A summer on the road

2020 has been strange to say the least and we are sure you are planning your adventures for next year already, much like us. Here are our tips for planning an easy breezy summer on the road.

Whether it’s the six week holidays or a couple of weeks to recharge, get your notebook ready and a map to hand for you to start planning.

Your stop off points

It is nice to have a sense of wanderlust and not knowing where you’re heading next and we are not advising you to plan the trip within an inch of it’s life, but it is good to have some stop off points planned. Think about where you are going to park for the night and maybe plan a few stops which you know have good facilities. Aside from that, the road is your oyster.

Plan for fuel

This isn’t a common problem across the UK but there are some spots and locations where fuel stations are few and far between. The main one for this is the Isle of Skye so research where you can stop off for fuel and carry a jerry can too.

Stock up on snacks

There’s nothing worse than being three hours into a five hour drive and having nothing to drink or eat. Of course you can stop off but garages and restaurants will significantly increase your travelling budget so if you see a supermarket, stop and get supplies.

We would love to hear where you are heading this coming Summer, it feels like a long way off but it will be here before we know it. If you are looking for a camper for your travels, get in touch with Your Camper for custom camper van builds in Glasgow.
