Beaches in Scotland

There’s something about a cold Scottish breeze and feeling your toes chilly in the water. We love Scotland and we feel so lucky to be in the home of some of the best beaches. Here are our favourites so you can add them to your travel list and let us know how you find them.

Michir Bay

Located on Islay, part of the Inner Hebredies, this beach is stunning and has some of the best sunsets we have ever seen. It’s an adventure and a half due to the location but if you have time on your hands and want golden sands, this beach should be at the top of your list.

Uyea

Connected to mainland Shetland and one for the more experienced adventurers. It is a scramble to get down to the beach so do be cautious when climbing down. The beach is gorgeous and you will get a good view from the cliff to if climbing isn’t your style.

Luskentyre Beach

On the West Coast of South Harris, this beach is home to stunning white sands. With clear waters, this beach has been named multiple times as one of the best in the world and it is easy to see why.

Scarp

It’s almost 30 years since the last inhabitants left Scarp and while there are now holiday cottages and homes to rent, it feels perfectly secluded. Gorgeous sunsets, we seem to be treated to this in Scotland, and great views looking out to other Islands, it’s a lovely getaway.

Fairy Pools

Not technically a beach, but how could we miss it out? The Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye is a waterfall with pools you can swim in,,if the weather permits. As magical as the name, it is one of our favourite water-based places to visit.
