With such a close proximity to the Southern Highlands, Glasgow is the start of many great road trips and this one is no different. Covering 64 miles you can easily make a day of the trip with our handy guide highlighting significant points of interest!
Loch Lomond
Second only to Loch Ness in terms of fame, Loch Lomond offers a fantastic view to the most Southernly of the Munros, Ben Lomond. Take some time to admire the snowy mountain tops with a cup of tea from your well equipped kitchen or perhaps set out on foot to spot the red deer that call The Trossachs National Park home.

Depending on how much time you’ve allocated for your journey, you may not want to ascend to the top of this Corbett. However just a short walk up reveals some very rewarding views. Alternatively, if the weather isn’t on your side, you can find a decent viewing area to enjoy the scenery from your campervan in Arrochar.
Rest and Be Thankful viewpoint
If you’re on a tighter schedule, the first two points can be enjoyed from your converted Volkswagen Transporter Campervan, however this viewpoint is worth getting out of the van for! Situated between Ardgartan and Cairndow on the A83, it has justifiably become know as one of the best views in the Highlands. From here you can take in the Old Valley Road, engineered by General Wade during the subjection of Scotland following the Jacobite rebellion.
After the viewpoint, you can carry on to Inveraray where you can visit Inveraray Castle, Inveraray Jail and the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar.
