Campervanning in Europe

Europe is full of places to explore, and if you’re considering taking your campervan on the journey, this blog post is for you. Not only are we insanely jealous, but we have a few tips for you to make your trip a little easier and a lot more enjoyable.

Go for it

If you are considering a trip to Europe and spending time weighing up the pros and cons, our advice is, just go for it. Europe is full of wonderful places to see and visit, filled with amazing food, drink and culture.

Learn a language

Although a lot of people will speak English on your travels, as you dive into other cultures you may find another language useful – the basics at least. While we aren’t suggesting you need to be fluent, a few Spanish or Italian words may come in handy.

Map it

Make sure your map or GPS system caters for the countries you are going to visit. It may sound like an obvious tip, but you would be surprised at how many people get caught short!

Know your dimensions

This one is a vital tip. Measure the height, length and width of your vehicle and keep these details handy. Narrow roads and low bridges could cause you a world of pain if you can’t physically fit through.

Free can be the key

Keep an eye out for free camping spots by beaches, lakes or mountains. Not only will you save a Euro or two, but you will get to see some of the most picturesque locations across Europe. If you do opt for free camping, remember to stay safe!

Know the law!

Familiarise yourself with local law and speed limits to avoid a slap on the wrist – or worse! Respect the laws of the country you are in, and remain vigilant at all times.

We’re excited just writing this blog post. If you’re planning your travels and need a mode of transport, you can find a used campervan in Glasgow when you visit Your Camper.
