Exploring the Peak District

While we love our mighty country, we are also a fan of travelling down to England and exploring the beauty spots there. One area that we are particularly fond of is the Peak District. Here are our favourite destinations if you’re planning a jaunt.

Bakewell

A widely famous weekly market and the equally delightful, Bakewell Pudding. We recommend sampling both of these and exploring the shops, sights and safes that are dotted around on your travels.

Castleton

A great base camp for exploring Hope Valley and adorned with beautiful buildings and unique architecture. You’ll find a mass gathering of walkers, hikers, cyclists and anyone else with a penchant for stunning scenery. Whether you’re a seasoned outdoors pro or just finding your feet in your walking boots, you are guaranteed to enjoy Castleton. When you’re there, make sure you visit Peveril Castle and of course, Mam Tor.

Edale

Charming and unspoiled, Edale is a must visit if you’re looking for a piece of quiet haven in today’s busy world. Climb Kinder Scout, visit the Mermaids Pool and go for a well-earned pint in the Nag’s Head, a local pub with a very warm welcome.

Hartington

Here lies an award-winning cheese shop. Need we say more? Set in the picturesque Dove Valley, you’ll be a stones-throw away from multiple walking trails and hikes. Enjoy!

Tideswell

Surrounded by limestone mountains and packed full of independent and quirky shops, you will feel transported back inn time when you visit Tideswell. Spoilt for choice when looking for campsites and surrounded by the beauty of Derbyshire. This is one of our favourite places to switch off, chill out and relax.

We can’t wait to head down to the Peak District again soon and if you’re thinking the same as us and need a campervan to help you on your travels, you can find a used campervan in Glasgow when you visit Your Camper. See you soon!
