Hidden gems of Glasgow
We’re Glasgow through and through and we love that our workshop is based here in the city. If you’re planning a trip to browse or buy a camper, we have put together some of our favourite ~ lesser known ~ things to do in the area.
St Aloysius Church
One of the most impressive Churches in Scotland and one you should definitely visit. Renaissance design and based on the Church of the Gesù in Rome, it is home to a copy of the Our Lady Montserrat too. Culture at its finest.
West Brewery
German inspired beers but packed with Glasgow flavour. The microbrewery offers tours and the restaurant has a whole host of tasty snacks; currywust and wiener schnitzel to name a couple. You could even pick up a couple of bits for your next camper adventure.
Sharmanka Kinetic Theatre
Not your average theatre. Historical tales are brought to life with automata, lighting and soundscapes. It showcases the works of Eduard Bersudsky, a Russian born mechanic and sculptor. If you’re looking for something totally alternative to do, pop this on your list of places to visit.
Tchai-Onva House of Tea
If we can’t call this a hidden gem, then it’s time for us to pack the camper and leave. It’s a small tea house inspired by the food and drink of Prague and has a Bohemian feel when you step inside. With over 100 teas to choose from, all ethically sourced and some locally made, get cosy and grab a cup when you’re passing through.
Govanhill Baths
A hub of community and a special place in the hearts of us Glaswegians. The baths were opened in 1914 and after some backing and forth-ing, they were handed back to the community in 2011. Theatre groups now use the space as week as hosting various events there, but the Edwardian features still remain in all their glory.
There are some of our favourite haunts in Glasgow. If you do want to find a campervan, come and visit us and we can start a plan for your motor.
