Practical furnishings
The road is calling and your van is ready for action. While you may feel ready to head out, you may want to spruce up the space to make it feel a little more homely, here are our top practical furnishings that we think both look good and do good.
Soft furnishings
Not only do they make the place feel more like home, but they are great for packing the van up and keeping breakables and valuables safe. Think popping your camera between the cushions, safely stored away or using blankets to wedge in your plates and glasses.
Tupperware containers
To save hunting high and low for the BBQ tongues or wondering where on earth you put the sugar for that first cup of tea, get some small Tupperware or storage boxes to give everything its rightful home. That way, you will feel more organised and like your camper is more of a permanent place of residency.
Sustainable cutlery
If you’re using real cutlery then skip this step but, if you’re looking for something that is an alternative, look for sustainable cutlery, there is nothing worse than ploughing your way through plastic so look for some wooden, recyclable or reusable alternatives.
Slippers
Are they a furnishing? It depends how often you wear them.
Get a pair of van slippers or, dare we say it, Crocs, to make sitting in your camper more comfortable. Ideal if you’re the passenger on your trips too, but it will make it feel a little more homely, for sure. Plus, it stops you treading mud and sand round the van!
