Rye and the South Coast

We are sure we are not alone in daydreaming of trips to the coast and exploring what the UK has to offer. One of the destinations we are keen to visit is Rye and the South Coast. Why? We could go on all day about the beauty and the diversity down there but instead, we have shortlisted some of our favourite locations so that you can add them to your bucket list.

Rye

The main attraction of this blog post at least, Rye is a gorgeous town down south, lined with cobbled streets and doused in charm. There are tons of indie businesses and streets to explore throughout, with picturesque scenery and, dare we say it, lots of traditional pubs! Perfect for refreshments before you head to Camber Sands.

Eastbourne

From Beachy Head to Birling Gap, Eastbourne offers quite the experience. Little Chelsea has been named one of the coolest neighborhoods in the UK so if you are in the Eastbourne area, it is absolutely worth a visit. With castles and dramatic views galore, there is plenty to see, explore and do.

Hastings

Famous for the battle of 1066 but Hastings has much more going for it than this alone. The Shipwreck museum tells stories of the sea and The Jerwood Gallery is home to wonderful collections of modern art. You may want to also time your trip around events going on in the area such as the Current Arts Festival to cram as much into your getaway as you can.

From Scotland, it is quite the drive down to the South Coast, but there are plenty of stops to make on the way and we promise that the views, shops, treks and adventures will absolutely be worth the miles that you clock up driving down there.
