Staying fit while travelling
Spending time on the road is all well and good and we love it as much as you do, more often that not you will be adventuring and walking, but with so much time spent behind the wheel, how do you stay fit while travelling? Here are our tips…
Hiking
If you’re travelling, we are going to take a guess that you want to see the sights of the UK and beyond but if you want to get a few more steps in, find a local hike (take the longer route, trust us!) and set out together or alone. Make sure you take a bottle of water and some snacks, going without is a rookie error and you will only do it once.
Yoga
If you are short on space or want to take things a little easier, try a short yoga flow to work out those aches and stiffness. You can either grab a mat and do it outside the van, or there are some pretty good ‘bed’ yoga tutorials that you can do with little to no room. Try some sun salutations to start with and go from there.
HIIT
Short, sharp and effective. A HIIT workout is designed to get the blood pumping quickly. Perfect if you don’t want to spend hours on it and for many exercises you don’t need any equipment (look for body weight exercises).
Surfing
Not everyone’s cup of tea and totally dependent on where you’re heading, but surfing is a great way of getting some exercise in and having fun throughout the process.
Walking
Good old fashioned walking. If you want low intensity, head out on a walk, a little longer than you would normally and get a few extra steps in.
Remember, only do what feels right for you and there are plenty of options to stay fit while travelling. If you want more tips or you are looking for a camper van in Glasgow, come and see the team at Your Camper.
