Traveling in Europe

We love visiting Europe in our camper vans but things are changing from 1st January 2021 which means there are extra things to consider and plan for. Here’s a rundown of some of the changes and don’t forget to check the Government website for updates.

Passport

Check whether you need to change or renew your passport well in advance of traveling. You will need to have more than six months left and for it to be less than ten years old. It is best to check as getting a new one can take a while unless you pay for a fast-tracked passport, but even then it is not guaranteed.

Documents

You may be required to show travel documents and money when you travel, as well as having additional driving documents and cards. It is best to check for your particular area of travel to make sure you’re covered when heading out on your trip.

Travel insurance

Make sure your travel insurance covers you for healthcare. This is vital in order for you to be covered and to prevent you from ending up in a tricky scenario should the worst happen or should you encounter ill health while you are on your travels.

Pet arrangements

If you have furry friends joining you on the road, or any pet for that matter, you will need an animal health certificate as opposed to a pet passport. Make sure you allow over a month to plan for this.

We hope you have lots of exciting travel plans for 2021, current situation depending, and if you need a camper van to cater for your travels, you know where to find us at Your Camper.
